The Innovation Agency is the Academic Health Science Network for the North West Coast, one of England’s 15 AHSNs and part of the AHSN Network which collectively acts as the innovation arm of the NHS. The Innovation Agency understands local and national health systems are well placed to broker innovative solutions and spread them nationally.

The Innovation Agency covers Cheshire, Merseyside, Lancashire and South Cumbria with a round 4.1 million residents. They work with two system partnerships, NHS providers, CCGs, Universities and a large number of life science companies across the region with their teams collaborating to deliver transformations and improvements in healthcare.

The Innovation Agency provides support to SMEs whose healthcare products have the potential to achieve improvement, largely delivered through ERDF and Office for Life Sciences funding. They have provided a great deal of support to Inovus Medical® helping access innovation funding through programmes such as EIT Health and SBRI Healthcare. They also help connect the business with Key Decision Makers across the region. The Innovation Agency continues to be a valuable supporter of Inovus as the company looks to scale internationally too.

Innovation Agency Chief Executive Dr Phil Jennings said: “We have been supporting Inovus Medical® since their early years, helping with bids for major funding from sources such as the Small Business Research Initiative for Healthcare, offering opportunities to exhibit at regional and national innovation events and advising on opportunities within our region and nationally to meet influencers and promote Inovus’ fantastic products.

“It is great to watch their continued growth as they bring their innovative solutions to the NHS and around the world, to improve surgical training and ultimately the care and safety of patients.”
