Role Mission: 

The mission of the Educational Programmes Manager is to spearhead the development and execution of Inovus Medical’s innovative Embedded Skills Programme, aimed at equipping 16-18-year-olds with practically applicable skills through direct mentorship with staff members. Additionally, the manager will oversee the organization and delivery of high-quality surgical training events at the company’s headquarters. This role is pivotal in bridging the skills gap within the Life Sciences sector, fostering talent from underrepresented communities, and establishing a sustainable framework for skills development that can be replicated across the Liverpool City Region, ultimately contributing to the company's growth and the region’s economic advancement. 

Key Duties and Responsibilities: 

  • Develop and implement the Embedded Skills Programme content and structure in alignment with the business case.
  • Lead on all stakeholder engagement for the programme.
  • Develop and manage the project management process and reporting dashboard including managing budgets and leading on project reporting to internal and external stakeholders.
  • Complete a mapping exercise of secondary and tertiary education providers across the LCR.
  • Complete a GAP analysis on skills development with secondary education providers.
  • Develop templates, resources and protocols for programme delivery (includes surveys, feedback forms, learning journals etc).
  • Lead on the appointment of an EDI lead and subsequent development and management of EDI metrics and an EDI dashboard.
  • Develop and lead on implementing safeguarding protocols.
  • Oversee recruitment, onboarding, and continuous support of programme participants. Includes leading in reach to secondary education providers.

  • Monitor and evaluate the progress and outcomes of the programme, ensuring it meets established goals.
  • Develop an ‘embedded skills development framework’ and introduce this to other host businesses across the LCR.
  • Line management of the Educational Programmes Coordinator to include weekly, monthly and quarterly management meetings.
  • Develop and manage quarterly KPIs for the Educational Programmes Coordinator.
  • Promote the skills programme to potential host businesses for wider roll out across the LCR.
  • Plan, coordinate, and execute surgical training events at the company headquarters to align with the ‘simulation centre business plan’. 
  • Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to ensure the surgical training events meet educational standards and objectives.
  • Manage event logistics, including scheduling, resource allocation, and participant registration for the series of surgical training events. 

 

Minimum Education/ Experience Requirements: 

  • Bachelor’s degree in Education, Business Administration, Healthcare Management, or a related field (Real world experience accepted as an alternative)
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in managing educational programmes or events, preferably at the secondary education level and community based education.
  • Proven experience in budget management and financial oversight.
  • Experience with safeguarding of young persons is a requirement.
  • Demonstrated ability to build and maintain relationships with a variety of stakeholders.
  • Minimum of 3 years’ experience in a management role with a at least 2 direct reports.
  • Proven track record of successful project management, ideally with evidence of project management software experience.
  • Highly organised self-starter.
  • Proven ability of effective written and verbal communication and listening skills
  • Strong interpersonal skills with an ability to effectively communicate and project themself
  • Ability to effectively work on and manage many priorities at one time.
  • Competent in the use of Microsoft 365 (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Teams and Outlook) 
  • Has an approachable manner that encourages interaction with others
  • Highly driven with a strong motivation to succeed
  • Fluency and clarity in written & spoken English
