Introduction to laparoscopic surgery course information

Description

Kickstart your laparoscopic surgery journey with this 1-day high-intensity course designed for surgical trainees. Combining foundational skills with procedure-specific training, this course prepares you to master key laparoscopic techniques under expert guidance.

Prepare with pre-course e-learning modules covering principles of laparoscopy, port placement, suturing, and emergency considerations to maximize your practical experience.

On the day:

Module 1:

Develop essential basic laparoscopic skills with focused tasks in object manipulation, disk cutting, and LapPass exercises, complete with video-recording, metric recording and real-time feedback.

Module 2:

Learn and practice the most common emergency procedure, laparoscopic appendicectomy. Refine your technique with augmented reality simulations, completing multiple procedures while improving through performance tracking and facilitator feedback.

Module 3:

Master advanced suturing skills with practical training on LapPass and enterotomy closure models, covering both continuous and interrupted suturing techniques. Reflect and progress with structured metric analysis.

Benefit from high-volume hands-on operating, live masterclasses, and performance tracking to gain confidence and competence in key laparoscopic procedures. Work towards getting LapPass sign off, with sign offs for modules completed during the face-to-face course. This course offers the perfect foundation to build your skills, improve efficiency, and excel in laparoscopic general surgery.
